Customer Awareness - New Electrical Laws
We have the following certifications that comply with the governing jurisdictions (Manitoba Hydro & City of Winnipeg Electrical Inspection Dept) to perform work under the new City of Winnipeg Electrical By-Law No. 133/2006 and Manitoba Hydro requirements. Companies that do not meet these requirements cannot perform any work and may affect customer's insurance policies and building occupancy permit(s).

Licensing

City of Winnipeg
We are a licensed Electrical contractor as per City of Winnipeg electrical By-Law under its provisions. For any company that installs or services technologies in both Residential and Commercial: Security Systems (alarms), CCTV, Card Access, VDV cabling (telephone, computer wiring and video cabling) and telephone systems MUST BE licensed by the City of Winnipeg as an Electrical Contractor. Companies not possessing this licence cannot perform any work in the City of Winnipeg.

We are licensed VDV (Voice, Data and Video) and Security Systems ( Alarm, Card Access, CCTV) under the Province of Manitoba Dept of Labour to enable us to be licensed by the City of Winnipeg as an a Electrical Contractor.

Province of Manitoba - Manitoba Hydro Jurisdiction
We are licensed VDV (Voice, Data and Video) and Security Systems ( Alarm, Card Access, CCTV) under the Province of Manitoba Dept of Labour. For any work done in Manitoba Hydro jurisdiction (outside of City of Winnipeg), these licenses are necessary. Companies not possessing this licence cannot perform any work in the Province of Manitoba.

Definition:

Designated Employee means City of Winnipeg Electrical Dept

2-004 Electrical Permit
(1) No person shall commence electrical construction or permit commencement of electrical construction until an electrical permit has been issued by an designated employee an no construction, connection, reconnection, alteration, repair or extension of any electrical installation may take place prior to an electrical permit being issued by the Designated Employee (see definition) for that construction.

(3) A Designated Employee (see definition) shall issue an electrical permit only

(a) to a person who holds an Electrical Contractors Licence authoring him or her to carry on his occupation, trade, or business in the City of Winnipeg.

2-008 Electrical Contractor's Licences

(1) no person may place, install, maintain, repair or replace and electrical equipment in the City of Winnipeg unless the person is operating under the authority of an Electrical Contractors Licence issued under this By-Law
